In Memory of Theo

Theo

Friends, we have sadly lost another very special Roxy dog. If you knew Theo, then you know his heart was way bigger than his body. He was a gentle giant who was adored by everyone he came across. Roxy will miss him greatly and the children in our community will too.

Here are some words from his owner/handler, Joanne Loeffler:

Theo passed away on Friday at the age of 7, after a five-month battle with cancer. He became a therapy dog at a year of age and just loved visiting kids.

Last I counted he had almost 200 hours visiting kids in his six years of being a therapy dog. He had his own third and seventh grade classes at Gayman Elementary for several years. He also loved doing the stress management classes and multiple disabilities classes in the high schools.

His favorite thing was to sit on the big kids’ laps and go around the room from lap to lap making everyone laugh. Both in CB South and CB East most kids knew him by name and we would often hear "Yo Theo!" as we walked down the halls to make visits.

Actually in 2020 before COVID hit he was asked to the prom at CB East. He was actually going to be allowed to attend too and I had big plans to dress him up to go. Unfortunately, with COVID we were unable to attend.
