In Memory of Douglas

Sadly, we mourn the loss of our beloved Roxy pup, Douglas. Douglas was full of joy and truly spread his love everywhere he went, especially on visits to the courthouse. He will be missed by many.

Here are some words from his owner/handler, Rachael Simon:

It is with great sadness that I report that Douglas has passed away, due to complications from advanced large cell lymphoma. It happened very quickly, and he was approximately 14 years old. Douglas was rescued from a terrible hoarding situation in 2012, and turned out to be a diamond in the rough. He was a once in a lifetime dog.

Douglas loved doing therapy work, and he would always come running when he saw me pick up that orange Roxy bandana. I am forever grateful to have been a part of this organization, and for the opportunity to work alongside my dog to bring happiness to others. The two of us working together was one of the great joys of my life.

I am so thankful for the beautiful photos gifted to us as Roxy volunteers last year, and they mean more to me now than ever.
