Make a lasting positive impact
on the children of Bucks County
The children of Bucks County need you and your dog. The requests for our volunteer teams keep growing and we want to ensure we never have to say ‘no’ to a child in need.
“20.5% of youth worldwide now struggle with anxiety symptoms. Roxy Therapy Dogs is uniquely positioned to help reduce childhood anxiety, stress, and depression—plus improve reading skills for the children in Bucks County.”
We started with one person and one dog 20 years ago. Now we visit 3,200 children per week, yet still cannot meet the demand for the comfort and support provided by our registered therapy dogs.
Opportunities to volunteer with your dog
Roxy dogs and their handlers work with children of all ages. We are the only dogs permitted in CBSD schools (outside of law enforcement and service dogs).
Help children improve their reading skills in elementary classrooms.
Provide stress relief to children in secondary schools and universities.
Offer comfort and support to children with special educational and developmental needs and medically fragile children.
Make difficult situations a little less scary for children through our courthouse program.
Support children in crisis after traumatic events occur.
What makes a Roxy dog?
Roxy dogs are certified therapy dogs who enjoy spending time with children. They are a calming presence in times of stress. But here’s the great thing, if your dog loves people, they can be trained to perform this important work.
