Roxy Volunteer Receives Penn Medicine CAREs Grant
Roxy is incredibly grateful for this generous grant from Penn CAREs! Roxy volunteer, Mary Alice Loeffler, is an absolutely phenomenal human being who deserves this recognition from Penn Medicine Doylestown Health.
We consider ourselves extremely lucky to have her and her pups in our Roxy family.
Mary Alice Loeffler
For more than three decades, Mary Alice Loeffler, a medical records technician at Penn Medicine Doylestown Health, has dedicated her time to volunteering with therapy dogs, bringing comfort and connection to those who need it most.
In recent years, she’s continued that mission with Roxy Therapy Dogs, a group dedicated to supporting children in schools and health care settings through the healing presence of therapy animals.
She’s also part of the Roxy Responders, a team that shows up in life’s hardest moments. From supporting communities after tragic loss to simply being there when words fall short, these dogs (and their handlers) offer something truly special: comfort without conditions.
Now, with support from the Penn Medicine CAREs Grant Mary Alice received, that impact will grow even further helping expand awareness, reach more families, and welcome new volunteers, both two and four-legged. From classrooms and clinics to community centers, Penn Medicine CAREs grants are strengthening volunteer-led service efforts across Penn Medicine communities.
