Roxy™ Therapy Dogs (“Roxy”) is committed to protecting your private information. This policy applies to data collected through our website or in another method (e.g. telephone, regular mail, e-mail, in person), and its usage.

Accessing and/or Using the Website

By using the Roxy Therapy Dogs website, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

How, What, Where and When We Collect Personal Information

The personal information Roxy collects is based on what you voluntarily provide to us.  However, you may be required to provide certain personal information when you elect to use certain features on the Site. The information may include, but is not limited to, your name, spouse name, child(ren) name(s), school name, teacher name, mailing address, zip code, telephone numbers, organization name, email address, and credit card information.

You will be asked to provide your personal information when making donations, registering for an event, purchasing Roxy gear and goods, entering a Parental Permission Form (see below) for our Elementary and Specialized School programs, requesting a Therapy Dog for your (teacher) class, providing stories and photographs, registering as a volunteer, contacting Roxy for information, contacting Roxy for a speaking engagement, and/or signing up for our newsletter.

Parental Permission Form

In order for Roxy to attend a school and classroom, teachers provide parents with a password and URL to find the restricted access Parental Permission Form on the Roxy site. All parents of students in the class must complete a Parent Permission Form, either online or via paper.  The permission form designates whether you do or do not give permission for your child to participate with a Pet Therapy Team in his/her classroom.  To see a PDF version of the form, please click here.

Roxy Therapy Dogs May Share Your Personal Information

Personal information may be shared internally with volunteers at Roxy Therapy Dogs to complete your donations or purchasing transactions, to contact you about our ongoing work, or to discuss ways that you can further support our efforts to help children in our community through interactions with therapy dogs. Except in the limited circumstances outlined below, Roxy Therapy Dogs will never intentionally share the information outlined above.

Exceptions

Roxy Therapy Dogs reserves the right to share your personal information in certain situations: credit card transactions, electronic fund transfers, payments by check or money order, and online financial transactions. Roxy Therapy Dogs uses third parties for its website, its customer database, to provide credit card, payment, and information processing services, and for the Roxy Gear available on the Site. If you choose to make a donation online, by phone, through the mail, or by other means, Roxy will share your personal information with our processing service providers.

Roxy may disclose your personal information, without notice, if required to so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on Roxy Therapy Dogs or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of Roxy Therapy Dogs; and/or (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of volunteers and customers of Roxy Therapy Dogs, or the public. 

Roxy’s Website & Credit Card Processing Services

Roxy Therapy Dogs uses three (3) third party services for its website, credit card processing and customer database.

The website is built using an all-in-one platform with SquareSpace. For additional information about this third party vendor, their website is https://www.squarespace.com/, and for information about Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) security, go to https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/205815898.

The website’s credit card processing is done through a third party vendor called Stripe.  Stripe’s security information can be found on its website at https://stripe.com/docs/security/stripe.

The website is connected to Roxy’s customer database.  The customer database is stored at Little Green Light.  LGL’s security information can be found at https://www.littlegreenlight.com/security/.

Under most circumstances, Roxy volunteers who manage the site, process donations and/or maintain the customer database do not have direct access to your credit information, including its number.  However, if you are a monthly sustaining donor who has chosen automatic credit card donations, a Roxy volunteer will need access to your new card information if the existing credit card has expired or been compromised.  Please contact Roxy with your most convenient contact information and a volunteer will contact you for the new information. info@roxytherapydogs.org. 

Cookies and Pixels

A “cookie” is a small piece of data that is sent to your web browser from Roxy Therapy Dogs’ web server and is stored on your computer’s hard drive. Cookies are used to collect non-identifying information about the user, such as Web surfing behavior or user preferences for a specific website.

Website Links

In order to provide certain services on the Roxy website, we contract with other companies and individuals. These additional services and goods may include links to other websites from our website. Roxy Therapy Dogs’ privacy practices may not be applicable at any third-party sites. Any time you leave the Roxy Therapy Dogs website, we have no control regarding what information may be collected about you, nor do we control what third-parties might do with the information.

For example, when you are on our GEAR AND GIFTS page, the link to SHOP NOW for Roxy Apparel, Mugs, Hats & More will take you to a third party vendor who makes and ships the products for Roxy fans. Ordering Roxy Gear from this site is not part of the Roxy website. This vendor has its own privacy policy under its ABOUT section.  Please also note that this vendor kindly provides Roxy with a donation for any items purchased through their site.

Social Media

If you friend, like or share Roxy Therapy Dogs’ social media posts, we do not collect information from those third party sites unless a donation is made.  Donations are received through Facebook on occasion, Facebook provides Roxy with a report of name, donation amount, and the fundraiser who was seeking donations on Roxy’s behalf. Facebook provides the donation to Roxy approximately 4-6 weeks after the donation was made online.

Changes to Privacy Practices

Roxy Therapy Dogs may update its privacy practices to address changing technology, security measures, and website functionality.
